Red Bull wanted something nobody had ever seen before — a real drifting car on a race track covered in LED pixels, displaying their brand in motion. Not a static sign. Not a screen on a trailer. An actual Chevrolet Camaro, fully wrapped in addressable LED strips, sliding sideways in front of the crowd.

Thanks to nearly 2,000 individually controlled pixel LEDs adorning its body, the robot is seamlessly controlled using the LED Ethernet Controller 3. However, we have enhanced its capabilities by integrating standard Wi-Fi and DMX Wi-Fi to ensure flawless performance without any interruptions.

Let’s be honest: when someone emails us to say they put our controllers in a moving stage on a 12-ton truck for a desert festival in South Africa, our only possible response is yes, please tell us more.

This project was built by one of our customers for Afrikaburn — the South African member of the global Burning Man Regional Network, held annually in the Tankwa Karoo desert in the Western Cape. Same founding principles as Burning Man, same spirit of radical creativity and self-reliance, completely different landscape. And apparently, the same magnetic pull toward building enormous impractical things in the desert.

What’s inside the Øuroboros?

It is a work of art made from a cylindrical beam and a huge number of different cables. We used one LED Ethernet Controller 3. The ring is actually made of two pieces. Each has 3 digital strips (30 LEDs/meter) hidden inside a protective tube.

We sealed all the electrical components. Øuroboros is located outdoors, exposed to the elements, so it must be weather-resistant. The guys also used white electrical tape as an additional diffuser layer. This way, we achieved beautiful, continuous effects that play in sync with the music.

Toyota Knight Rider – Pixel LED Scanner on a Car

Let’s be honest: putting a Knight Rider LED scanner on a Toyota is completely unnecessary. It serves no practical purpose. It is arguably illegal for road use. And it was absolutely worth doing.

This was an internal test project — specifically a real-world test of our REACTIVO controller in an automotive environment. We wanted to see how it handled being powered by a car battery, controlled over WiFi without any additional infrastructure, and mounted on a moving vehicle. The Knight Rider effect was just a happy excuse.

In this setup, you can see the LED strips primarily positioned behind the shelves and desk. The demo is from the game Cyberpunk 2077. We use 1 Reactivo device for power.

Who doesn't love bowling? There's always time for fun, and it's a great break from everyday life. It's even more fun when you have the right lighting.

The goal of our simple installation was to use addressable WS2811 pixel LED strips to light up the bowling lane. It’s pretty straightforward, but we wanted to trigger an animated light scene when the bowling ball enters the lane.

We used the new Reactivo controller to control the digital LED strips along the lane. The new firmware version supports triggers on external sensors. It allows you to perform various types of actions when an external trigger is pressed.

Perhaps not everyone knows that Slovaks were one of the first groups in the world (specifically the third) to successfully produce LED light-up costumes and the corresponding software to control them (Led Strip Studio). In collaboration with the dance group The Pastels, they launched this successful project, and you could see them on TV for the very first time—Slávik 2012

Following this debut, their second highly successful project was in collaboration with Red Bull at the Central shopping center, with this video garnering 1.1 million views on our channel alone and many millions more on others.
